Introduction to the Code of Angular Contact Ball Bearings

2024-03-25

The characteristic of angular contact bearing is that it can bear both radial load and single axial load. The larger the contact Angle, the larger the axial load, the smaller the contact Angle, the smaller the axial load. Conversely, the smaller the contact Angle, the greater the ability to bear radial loads, and the more suitable for high-speed applications. According to different working conditions, it can be combined in a variety of ways to obtain different radial and axial load capacity, and meet the requirements of high speed and diameter, and high axial stiffness.

Angular contact ball bearing accuracy class includes dimensional tolerance and rotation accuracy. From low to high accuracy is expressed as P0(ordinary), P6(P6X), P5, P4, P2, in addition, P3, P7, P9 are also used in European and American brands to indicate accuracy levels, P3 is equivalent to level P6 of ISO and JS standards, P7 is equivalent to level P4, and P9 is equivalent to level P2.

The names of most rolling bearings follow a standard consisting of one or more prefixes, bearing basic codes, and bearing suffixes. The same applies to double row angular contact ball bearings. Taking a bearing as an example, such as the 3206A-2RS1TN9/C3MT33 bearing, which has no prefix, and double row angular contact ball bearings only have one prefix, E2, representing energy-saving bearings.

Among them, 3206 is the basic code for bearings, 3 is the bearing type, representing double row angular contact ball bearings, 2 is the bearing size standard, representing the 02 standard series, 06 is the inner diameter code, representing an inner diameter of 30mm.

A-2RS1TN9/C3MT33 is the bearing suffix code, consisting of five parts: internal design, external design (sealing, snap ring groove, etc.), cage design, precision clearance pre tightening standard, and lubricating grease. In the current bearing suffix code, A is the internal design code, representing unfilled groove, and there is also D, representing two-piece inner ring.

-2RS1 is the external design code for bearings, representing double-sided contact NBR seals. In addition, there are N (outer ring with snap ring groove), NR (outer ring with snap ring groove with suitable snap ring), CB (controlled axial clearance), -2Z (both sides with dust covers), etc.

TN9 is the design code for the cage, representing the fiberglass reinforced PA66 cage with ball centering. In addition, there are also J1 (stamped steel cage, ball centering), M (machined brass cage, ball centering), MA (machined brass cage, outer ring centering), etc.

C3 is the precision clearance pre tightening standard, representing C3 clearance, which means that the axial internal clearance is greater than the normal value. In addition, there are C2 (axial internal clearance is less than the normal value), C3 (axial internal clearance is greater than C3), P5 (P5 level accuracy), P6 (P6 level accuracy), P62 (P6+C2), P63 (P6+C3), and so on.

MT33 is the grease code, and the details of the grease are shown in the following figure.
